Commentary:

An excellent opening partnership for Chearsley on a very hot and humid day forced Knotty onto the defensive very early in the match.  All of the bowlers struggled against some aggressive batting which posted a total out of the reach of a weakened Knotty batting line-up.  

On a good batting track Chearsley batted through their 45 overs and then failed to open the game up when Knotty batted.  Paul Hill batted for over 2 hours which, together with good contributions from Mike Widdowson and Nigel Roberts, was sufficient to save the game.
